Hey there, I'm John Leeman, a seasoned gearhead with a passion for all things automotive. My love affair with cars ignited back in first grade when I laid eyes on a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door – talk about love at first sight! Since then, my obsession has only grown.

Fueling my car craze, every Christmas during my childhood, my parents indulged my enthusiasm by gifting me a couple of 1:18 scale model cars. Fast forward to today, and I proudly still own every single one. Believe I have 40 or so.. My journey as a professional gearhead has been a thrilling ride, and I'm revved up for the continued adventures ahead!

Professional

Fresh out of college, I kick-started my professional journey with a bold move – launching a luxury car rental service in the heart of Salt Lake City. Picture this: I'd stroll up to passionate car owners, pitch them the idea of renting out their cars on my platform, and in return, we'd share the revenue. Call it an early glimpse into the revenue-sharing models that dominate the scene today. With sheer determination, I rounded up a fleet of eight dazzling cars, turning dreams into reality. I eventually decided to sell the business and head to Texas to start a sales career.

After selling my first venture, I moved to Dallas diving into the realm of daily deals, riding the waves of innovation and had great success there as a sales leader in that space. A few years down the road, I shifted gears into luxury travel club memberships with Inspirato. At this point, I realized I thrive working with individuals who value their time, money, and experiences.

That realization paved the way for my stint at REVOLVE, a brainchild born in sunny South Florida. Joining as the inaugural team member running membership development, we crafted a luxury car subscription haven, letting members switch wheels every 60 days for a flat monthly fee. Fast forward three years, and we had over 200 enthusiast driven members cruising South Florida in style. This business was eventually sold to a dealership in South Florida, and it was one hell of a ride.

My journey then led me to California and Texas, exploring the realm of vehicle subscription businesses. While some ventures hit the brakes, others zoomed off into acquisitions. In the heart of Dallas, I teamed up with a visionary founder to birth The Shop Club – a sprawling haven for car and motorcycle enthusiasts featuring storage, workspaces, a mechanical garage, cigar lounge, and more. The business continues to flourish and has entered its third location. As the General Manager, I steered the ship before transitioning into an investor role as I moved my family to Evergreen, CO where my wife continues her corporate career growth.
